Everything about Narre Warren Victoria totally explained

Narre Warren is an outer south-eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is located in the Local Government Area of the City of Casey, and houses the city's Civic Centre. Narre Warren has its own railway station, located on Webb Street and is home to Australia's second largest shopping centre, Westfield Fountain Gate.

Residential Development

Over the years Narre Warren has grown from a semi-rural residential town to become a part of a major growth corridor in the south-east of Melbourne. In recent years a multitude of new housing developments have seen Narre Warren expand so that it now adjoins neighbouring suburbs such as Berwick and Cranbourne. An estimated eight houses are built every day in the area with young, lower-middle-class families representing the majority of new residents.

Education

Schools in Narre Warren include Oatlands Primary School, Maramba Primary School, Don Bosco Primary School, Eumemmerring College Fountain Gate Campus, Fountain Gate Primary School, Dandenong Valley Special School and Hallam Valley Primary School. Narre Warren Station Primary School was closed at the end of 2001 and moved to Narre Warren South to suit the change in growth areas.

Retail and Commercial Development

Westfield Fountain Gate (named after one of the earlier subdivisions) is at the heart of the main commercial precinct in Narre Warren. Is is one of the largest shopping centres in Australia, housing many of Australia's major retailers.
   The civic precinct is located inside the boundary of Westfield, and includes the City of Casey municipal offices, Narre Warren Library and the Casey ARC (Aquatic and Recreation Centre). This precinct is currently being reconsidered for a $300 million redevelopment by the Casey Council.
   Adjacent to the centre on Narre Warren North Road is the Fountain Gate Regional Shopping Centre and the Casey Lifestyle Centre consisting of larger retailers in warehouse-style stores.
   There is also a local shopping strip that developed around the Narre Warren Railway Station in Webb Street.

Narre Warren Fire Brigade

The Narre Warren Fire Brigade is a fully volunteer organisation in Region 8, located approximately 40 km south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia,10 minutes from Dandenong in the City of Casey which is the 2nd fastest growing municipality in Australia. The primary brigade area consists of 193,700 square metres of office, commercial and retail floor space. In 1997 the population was 26,000 people in 8,870 houses. This grew to 30,000 people and 10,500 houses in 1999, and was expected to grow in 2001 to 34,300 population and 12,300 houses. The brigade has over 8,800 cars registered in it's area. The brigade also has the Westfield Fountain Gate Shopping Centre in our area, which is one of the largest shopping centres in Victoria, with an area of 81,300 square metres, containing 250 shops. Also within the area is a large $18 Million swimming complex which has a number of pools, including a wave pool . The increase of population over the last few years within the area has brought about an increase in the number of calls that the brigade has received, from approx. 100 calls in 1993 to 500 calls in 2004-2005.
